About Banks Law Firm

Chuck Banks

Chuck Banks has been privileged to serve the people of Arkansas as a trial lawyer for 37 years. He has spent his professional life devoted to the principal of a citizen’s constitutional right to trial by jury. Having tried over 200 jury trials and hundreds of non-jury trials in federal, state, and municipal courts, Chuck believes trials are society’s chief tool by which citizens’ disputes are settled.

Chuck Banks regularly tries complex cases in United States District Court, Eastern District of Arkansas, involving people charged with federal crimes. He has been fortunate to represent a spectrum of individuals who have been indicted by a United States Grand Jury including other lawyers, engineers, law enforcement officials and business owners.

Much of Chuck’s practice is devoted to commercial trials involving disputes among citizens over contracts or money. Chuck has been pleased that juries have provided financial compensation to his clients in a number of cases.

Because he comes from a long farm background, Chuck has been able to concentrate a portion of his practice over the last few years in agricultural trials. He represents rice farmers all across the state in relation to losses sustained from genetically modified rice seed.

Chuck has always been in private practice except during the years1988-1993, when he had the honor of being nominated by President Ronald Reagan to be the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas (Little Rock). He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate and served a 4 ½ year term.

Chuck’s proudest professional achievement was to serve as President of the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, where he has been an active member since 1975. He is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court and all state and federal courts in Arkansas, Chuck’s main primary focus of practice is trial work.

In addition to being a full-time practicing attorney, Chuck has served as a mediator upon special request in complex legal disputes.
